Footy Daily Summary – Thursday 26 March 2026

Round 3 Complete | Round 4 Preview

NRL Round 3: What Happened

  • Panthers are absolutely rolling – Undefeated at 3-0, defence averaging just 3.3 points against per game. That’s premiership stuff.
  • Warriors are flying – 3-0 start (only second time in club history). Beating Raiders, Roosters, Knights. Luke Metcalf’s return + this form = real top 4 chances.
  • Broncos bounce back – Finally opened their account after slow start.
  • Roosters in trouble – Conceded 40+ points twice in three rounds. No premiership winner has done that since Cowboys 2015. Premiership warning sign.
  • Dragons winless – 0-3 start. Second time in three years.

Current Ladder (Top 8)

  1. Melbourne Storm – 3-0
  2. NZ Warriors – 3-0
  3. Penrith Panthers – 3-0
  4. Canterbury Bulldogs – 2-0
  5. Wests Tigers – 2-0
  6. Newcastle Knights – 2-0
  7. Cronulla Sharks – 1-1
  8. Brisbane Broncos – 1-1

What We Learned

  • Defence wins premierships: Panthers’ 10 points conceded in 3 games is the real deal.
  • Warriors for real: Luke Metcalf return + 3-0 start = genuine top 4 contenders.
  • Tigers resurgence: 2-0 start under new co-captains, Luai impact immediate.
  • Roosters alarm: No premiership winner has conceded 40+ twice in a season (Cowboys 2015 last).
